The Emerald Isle Fall Fishing Tournament brings anglers and spectators together for a favorite fall tradition on the Crystal Coast. The family-friendly tournament features both boat and surf fishing divisions, with competitors taking to the water and shoreline in pursuit of King and Spanish mackerel and other catches, plus special opportunities for junior anglers.
The weekend begins Friday evening with registration, dinner, a Captain’s Meeting and a live auction featuring items donated by local businesses and artists. Fishing gets underway Saturday morning, followed by afternoon weigh-ins and an evening awards presentation. More than just a fishing competition, the tournament supports the local community: proceeds help provide scholarships for area high school students interested in marine sciences, with remaining funds supporting navigational dredging in Emerald Isle.
Friday’s registration opens at 5:30 PM, dinner begins at 6:00 PM, and the Captain’s Meeting begins at 7:00 PM, followed by a live auction. On Saturday, lines are in at 7:00 AM, the scales open at 1:00 PM, and awards are presented at 6:00 PM.
Events take place throughout Emerald Isle. Friday’s Captain’s Meeting, dinner and auction are at the Emerald Isle Recreation Center Gymnasium, 203 Leisure Lane. Saturday’s weigh-in is at the Emerald Isle Wildlife Ramp, with the awards ceremony at the Emerald Club.
